Mukerian, January 17

On the eighth day of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra today, the march began from Tanda. Crossing through Dasuya in the afternoon, the yatra on its way to Mukerian halted at village Pandori Lameen. A press conference was addressed here by Rahul Gandhi. The village is part of Mukerian assembly segment.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi’s journey from Jhingad Kalan village travelled to Dasuya and then to Mukerian assembly segment.

A large number of local Congress workers and leaders were present to welcome Rahul Gandhi at different places in Dasuya under the leadership of Hoshiarpur district Congress president and former Dasuya MLA Arun Dogra, former MLA Pawan Adia and MLA from Chabbewal Assembly constituency and deputy deader of CLP, Rajkumar Chabbewal.

Rahul Gandhi, during the journey, was greeted by people from all walks of life. Rahul reciprocated by shaking their hands. After this, the yatra stopped for lunch and rest at village Lameen Pandori.

Rahul was warmly welcomed by the locals, Congress workers and party leaders led by former MLA Indu Bala during the Mukerian visit. Bharat Jodo Yatra then halted for the night at Bibi Satwant Kaur Public School in village Musahpur. Tomorrow (January 18), the yatra will leave for Himachal Pradesh.
