He described it as a landmark move to enhance access to quality higher education in the region.
Speaking to mediapersons, Bahra emphasised that the self-financed institution would serve as a catalyst for educational and regional development. He said the university would offer professional courses designed to make students employment-ready, boosting their placement prospects.
Bahra revealed that the university plans to introduce a range of new-age courses in collaboration with leading multinational companies. These programmes aim to enhance the employability of students and align academic offerings with industry demands. He added that the university would provide attractive scholarship schemes and state-of-the-art facilities to support student success.
Highlighting the legacy of the Rayat Bahra Group, Bahra said its institutions, including Rayat Bahra University in Mohali and Bahra University in Shimla, have consistently ranked among the top universities in India. He credited this success to the group’s commitment to affordable education, exceptional faculty, and robust infrastructure.
Bahra also pointed out that the group’s focus on preparing students for employment before graduation has been a key differentiator. This proactive approach has helped graduates secure promising career opportunities.
