On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Toora, the Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti along with Traffic In-charge Inspector Aman Kumar distributed jackets among the traffic police staff today. The jackets were distributed following complaints that policemen were finding it tough to perform their duty in the prevailing harsh cold. Several policemen had also fallen ill as they were not allowed to wear coloured jackets on duty.

SSP Toora said the job of the traffic policemen was very challenging. “It is our duty to look after our subordinate staff,” he said.

The SSP said reflector jackets and flicker lights distributed to the traffic wing and PCR police personnel to improve night policing and traffic management. This will also help save them from any accident owing to poor visibility due to foggy weather conditions, he added.
