Rs 4L looted from hardware trader

Garhshankar: Two motorcycle-borne persons looted Rs 4 lakh from a businessman. Sagar Jain, a wholesale hardware accessories trader of Jalandhar came in his car for payment collection from various shops in the Sri Anandpur Sahib area against the goods supplied to them. On his way back, he went to Sunder Hardware Store on the local railway road. As soon as he got down and went inside the shop, an unidentified young man wearing a helmet lifted a bag containing Rs4 lakh from his car parked on the roadside and fled towards Hoshiarpur on a motorcycle. As soon as the information was received, a police party led by SI Subhash Chander reached the spot and took stock of the incident. The police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras to identify the robbers. When contacted, SHO Iqbal Singh told mediapersons that robbers would be arrested soon. OC

Video of youths firing in air viral

Hoshiarpur: A video of youths firing in the air at a party has gone viral on social media. In a small video clip of a few seconds, some youngsters could be seen partying at an unknown place. A few other youngsters were also seen partying, having drinks while one of them was shooting the video. As the video became viral and was brought to the notice of the city police by some residents, the police have started probe. SHO Gobinder Kumar said he had came across the video on social media and the police have started the investigation.
