Rs 5 cr project to upgrade Hoshiarpur-Jalandhar road

MLA of Shamchurasi Assembly Constituency and Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh flagged off the widening and strengthening work of the Hoshiarpur-Jalandhar link road, covering areas up to Taragarh, Randhawa Barota, Sandhra and Nandachaur.

While inaugurating the project at Taragarh, Dr Singh stated that the 7.76-km stretch, extending from the Hoshiarpur-Jalandhar road to the Haryana-Shamchurasi road, is being widened to 14 feet. Additionally, the bridge at Sandhra village on this route is also being expanded to 8.5 metres. The total cost of the project stands at Rs 5.33 crore.

He noted that the poor condition of the road had caused significant inconvenience to residents for a long time. The upgraded road, he said, will greatly improve connectivity and ease travel for the local population.
