Dressed in white shirts and brown-coloured trousers, 1,750 swayamsevaks, along with 3,050 fellow citizens participated in the events held at nine locations in the city. At the main function organised at SD College, Vijay Kumar, Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Vyavastha Pramukh of the Sangh, addressed the gathering. He said the renaissance of India is possible only through the organised strength of society.
Remembering the sacrifices made by the ninth Sikh master, Guru Teg Bahadur, ahead of his 350th martyrdom day, Vijay Kumar said it was a powerful message of protecting human rights and values. He conveyed that every religion deserves respect, and no one has the right to oppress others based on religion or to force anyone to change their faith. Mahanagar Sanghchalak Vijay Gulati and Govind Nagar Sanghchalak Raman Sharma were also present on the stage. The ceremony was presided over by Swami Sajjananand from Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, Noormahal, while social worker Iqbal Singh Arneja attended it as the chief guest. During the Shri Ram Nagar function held at JC Resorts, Chugitti, keynote speaker Rajinder Chatha, Sangthan Mantri of Vidya Bharati Punjab, performed the traditional worship of arms.
RSS celebrates years of service, unity
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) marked its centenary celebrations today with a special event presided over by District Sangh Chalak, Ashok Chopra. The ceremony began with a flag salutation and weapon worship, followed by patriotic songs and Amrit Vachan.
The event was attended by Chief Guest Colonel Malook Singh and Provincial Pracharak Narendra, who shared their thoughts on the importance of the RSS in national service. Colonel Malook Singh praised the volunteers (Swayamsevaks) for their selfless dedication to society and their unwavering commitment to serving the nation.
