Thought-provoking Opinions, Expert Analysis, In-depth Insights and other Member Only BenefitsTo ensure the supply of clean drinking water in rural areas, the Minister for Revenue Rehabilitation and Disaster Management, Water Supply and Sanitation, Housing and Urban Development, Hardeep Singh Mundian, laid the foundation stone of a water supply scheme to be built at a cost of Rs 62.45 lakh at Hiyatpur village of Mukerian block and inaugurated a water-supply scheme built at a cost of Rs 54.50 lakh in Hajipur block.
On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister said that it was the priority of the Punjab Government to provide clean drinking water facility to every village. He said that with the completion of these projects, the villagers would get great relief from water-borne diseases.
Meanwhile, addressing a public meeting on the occasion, Mundia discussed in detail about the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme and said that under this ambitious scheme, starting from October, the Punjab Government was ensuring cashless health insurance for every resident of the state. Under this scheme, health insurance up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided to the people of the state, so that they can get quality medical facilities without any financial burden.
