Balwinder Bodh, president of Ambedkar Sena Moolniwasi (Phagwara), addressed the gathering, strongly condemning the act as a "disrespectful and condemnable attempt" to insult the CJI.

In a separate protest Aam Aadmi Party's Scheduled Caste wing also gathered in Phagwara to express outrage over the incident. Led by Jarnail Nangal, in-charge of the AAP SC wing (Doaba) demonstrators assembled at the rest-house and later marched to Hargobind Nagar Chowk.
