The seminar served as a platform for participants to explore emerging trends in science journalism and understand how AI is reshaping the media landscape. A radio feature contest on the theme “Climate Change: Impact and Challenges” was also held as part of the programme.

In his inaugural address, Dr Rajesh Grover, Director, PGSC, highlighted how Artificial Intelligence is transforming the domains of science, technology and communication. He noted that AI accelerates data analysis, supports advanced simulations and automates routine tasks, thereby boosting productivity and creativity.

Dr Grover also pointed out that AI is being increasingly integrated into journalism to enhance efficiency and save time. However, he cautioned about associated challenges such as algorithmic bias, data privacy issues and ethical concerns. He stressed the importance of proper training to enable journalists to use AI responsibly in news reporting.
