Rajya Sabha MP Balbir Singh Seechewal has strongly warned Pakistan to refrain from supporting terrorism and cease its provocative actions. Returning late last night from an official visit to the Philippines, Seechewal made a sharp remark on the rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

He said that the entire world is aware of Pakistan’s support and shelter to terrorism. Due to the temporary closure of the Amritsar airport amid current security concerns, Seechewal was forced to land in Delhi.

Referring to the tragic incident on April 22 in Pahalgam, where approximately 26 innocent tourists were killed, Seechewal said the horrific event has shocked the global community. He lauded the Indian Air Force for striking terrorist hideouts in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, sending a strong and clear message that India will not tolerate any form of terrorism.

MP Seechewal stressed that the entire nation stands firmly behind its armed forces. “In these trying times, the country is united and secure,” he said, urging citizens to remain resilient and stand together.

He also emphasised that war is never a solution to any issue. “Wars result in immense loss of civilian life and property,” he said. He reminded that India has previously given a befitting reply to Pakistan in response to acts of terrorism. The aim of terrorists has always been to instill fear by sheltering in Pakistan-occupied territories and targeting innocent civilians.

On Pahalgam attack, he said, “The country was angry. Pakistan itself has acknowledged receiving foreign funding and training terrorists to infiltrate into India.”

Reiterating his stance, Seechewal said, “War is not the answer. It only brings devastation.” He appealed for restraint on both sides, stating that India is fully secure under the protection of its well-equipped and modern military forces. However, he warned that if the situation worsens, strong measures may be necessary, though avoiding war remains in the interest of humanity.

Sant Seechewal urged the public to stay away from rumours and not to panic by hoarding essential supplies, which only leads to chaos. Highlighting several false reports circulating on social media, causing unnecessary fear, he appealed to people to refrain from sharing such misleading posts which contribute to a climate of fear and unrest.
