The Commissionerate Police on Saturday arrested six persons after recovering 19.5 gram of heroin from their possession.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Dhanpreet Kaur said teams of Division No. 1, 5 and New Baradari police stations arrested four accused and recovered 19.50 grams of heroin from their possession.

Three separate FIRs under the NDPS Act were registered against them, she said. Similarly, teams from Division No. 6 and Sadar police stations arrested two persons while they were consuming drugs. Two separate cases were registered against them, the CP said. During this operation, the police admitted three drug addicts to de-addiction centres for treatment. — TNS
