The Shahkot police have booked six persons, including four women, on the charge of assaulting a primary school teacher.

Investigating Officer (IO) Sukhwindar Pal Singh said the accused were identified as Reshi, a resident of Chak Bahmannia village, his two sisters Kuki and Simri, Tikku, and his wife Sukhwindar Kaur, and Seema, wife of Dharamveer, all residents of the same village.

Kulveer Kaur, a resident of Chak Bahmania village, complained to the police that the accused barged into the Government Primary school on July 15 morning, assaulted her, and deterred her from performing her duty. The IO said a case under Sections 333, 121(1), 132, 221, 74, 191(3) and 190 of the BNS was registered against the accused. No arrests had been made and raids were on to nab the accused, who were on the run, the IO said.
