Describing the government’s conduct as “undemocratic and anti-people,” Grewal said it reflected the ruling party’s fear of political opposition.
Addressing the media, Grewal directly challenged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, asking, “Why are you getting scared of the BJP?” He alleged that the state government was deliberately targeting BJP workers to curb their activities ahead of upcoming political campaigns.
The BJP leader also dismissed allegations made by AAP regarding illegal data collection by BJP workers. The AAP had claimed that BJP functionaries were engaged in unauthorised efforts to gather people’s personal data. Refuting the charge, Grewal said there was “no question of any data theft,” insisting that party workers were only helping people avail services through Common Service Centers and acting as “facilitators” for the public.
