State Sports School excels at 69th School State Games in boxing

In the boys’ category, the school bagged a total of seven medals — three gold, two silver and two bronze — showcasing its dominance in the ring. The medal-winning performances were a result of the athletes’ discipline, dedication and intensive training.
The three gold medalists — Hardik, Gobind Bhatia and Jasnoor Thind — have earned selection to represent Punjab at the School National Games, scheduled to be held in Arunachal Pradesh from October 29 to November 3, 2025.
The boxing centre of the State Sports School also added to the medal tally with notable performances from both boys and girls. Akshara Bhardwaj clinched a gold medal in the 80 kg category in the girls’ division and has also qualified for the national level.
In the boys’ division, Rishit Bhagat secured a silver medal in the 54 kg category, while Sakham Tandon took silver in the 80 kg category.
The consistent success of the Sports School reaffirms its status as a premier boxing training hub in Punjab, committed to grooming young talent for national and international arenas. Boxing coach Arihant Kumar expressed his pride and satisfaction over the commendable achievements of his students.
