He also met MC Commissioner Gautam Jain. The Commissioner pointed out various loopholes in the system and also talked about the messy sewerage system.

The Mayor and Commissioner also discussed the works that needed the Local Bodies Minister's intervention.

Dhir also asked the MC officials of the works they had done in the past two years. "I questioned them what were the targets and what have they achieved until now and I also shared my roadmap and vision with them," he said.

The new Mayor has also given 'home work' to the officials of Tehbazari, property tax and various other departments to make a list of the number of properties that come under these.

"I will start holding meetings regularly with all of them so that the work could be streamlined," Dhir said.

He also took the financial overview of the corporation. Dhir further asked the officials not to ignore any constituency in the city.

Dhir, while recently talking to The Tribune, had said Jalandhar was lagging behind and what was more painful was that residents were not getting even basic facilities.

He also pointed out that several departments from where good revenue would have come weren’t working up to the mark and revenue generation was not satisfactory. He would, therefore, ensure that the revenue increased. He also pointed out the pathetic sewerage condition in the city and said he would start working towards resolving these issues and had promised to bring work culture in the corporation.
