A cake-cutting ceremony was held at Nova IVF Centre and Tagore Hospital and Heart Care Centre. St Soldier Group of Institutions also celebrated National Doctors Day in which students discussed the importance of doctors in society and how doctors save lives of others without caring about their own lives.

On this occasion, the students wrote messages on Doctors’ Day on chart paper and said the society must understand and acknowledge the noble work done by doctors. This activity was led by school principals, staff members and parents of students.

At Nova IVF Fertility, clinical director Dr Jasmine Dahiya said the special day commemorated the birth and death anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned physician, and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal. She said, “This day is a reminder that doctors are not just caregivers, but also individuals who need empathy, support and well-being. At the same time, it also reminds the doctors about their social responsibility towards the society”.

The theme for National Doctor’s Day this year was “Behind the mask: Who heals the healers?” which highlights the emotional and mental struggles faced by healthcare professionals. It is also a grim reminder of the Covid-19 pandemic, when doctors selflessly served patients.
