Sweets, oil samples collected for testing

A food safety team from Hoshiarpur district inspected food items at various places and took samples during a special drive conducted on Jammu national highway and Himachal Pradesh border near Talwara on Thursday. The team was led by Food Safety Officer Manish Sodhi. District Health Officer Dr Jatinder Bhatia said Sodhi and his team inspected vehicles coming from other districts. during which three samples of sweets and a sample of mustard oil were taken for examination.

Dr Bhatia said keeping in mind the festive season, teams had been constituted to carry out investigations and that samples collected had been sent for lab test. Action would be taken after the sample report is received, he said.

He urged people to support the Health Department in the campaign and provide information against violators. — OC
