Ten-day NCC camp concludes

A 10-day camp came to an end at DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology College under the aegis of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion. As many as 350 NCC cadets learnt military training, personality development and leadership mantras. The cadets participated in many competitions and sharpened their skills. Group Commander Brigadier Ajay Tiwari, Sena Medal recipient, also inspected the camp.

He told the cadets about time management, self-reliance and also how to live in a camp with team spirit. Camp Commander Colonel Vinod Joshi said that the cadets were taught to wake up early, perform their daily chores, run and exercise at six in the morning.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
