The thief entered from the terrace on the third floor of the under-construction building around 8 am and took away the cash from the counter by tying it all in a red-colour. The crime was captured on the CCTV wherein a tall, lean man is seen wearing black clothes, black woollen cap and gloves while collecting the cash.

Cops reached the spot and started investigation. Rajiv Duggal, president of the Model Market Association, said a similar theft, wherein the criminal had landed inside Apple showroom from the terrace of the under-construction building, had occured in Model Town a few days back. He said Rs 10 lakh had been looted in that incident.

Duggal has appealed to the shopkeepers in the market to appoint watchmen jointly. "We must check all accesses to our showrooms via terraces. As a precautionary measure, groups of shopkeepers can keep guards to keep an eye on any untoward incident in the night and early hours", he said in his video message that he shared with the association.
