Death of three Covid-19 patients on Saturday took the toll district to 39. With 68 new positive patients, the tally has risen to 1,452.

Civil Surgeon Dr Jasvir Singh said out of 68 cases, 27 are from Hoshiarpur city, eight from Chakkowal, three from Bhunga, five from Dasuya, six from Hajipur, three from Talwara, six from Garhshankar, two from Harta Badla, three from Mukerian, four from Tanda and one from Mahilpur. Of the Covid patients who died, Gursharan Singh (58), a resident of Tanda, died at a private hospital in Jalandhar. Also Raksha Devi (65), a resident of Depur died in Medical College, Amritsar while 82-year-old Dalip Singh of Talwara died in another private hospital in Jalandhar. The number of active cases is 429 and 984 patients have recovered.
