In an ongoing campaign against drugs, the police have arrested three 'drugs peddlers' at three different places in Phagwara last night.

SSP, Kapurthala, Gaurav Toora, told this correspondent here today that the police nabbed a peddler identified as Nitin Gupta of Aarti Mohalla in Mehli Gate, Phagwara, and recovered 15 gm of heroin from him. The accused was nabbed at a check-point near Jain Model School in the Palahai gate locality here.

Toora said in the second case, a migrant Chhottu Mandal, presently residing in village Miherru, was arrested with 10 gm heroin during nakabandi near village Hardasspur, Phagwara, last night.

Toora disclosed that in the third case, the police arrested another drugs smuggler and recovered 150 intoxicated tablets from his possession last night.

The accused identified as Gobinda of Soondh Colony, Phagwara, was arrested at a check point near village Gaunspur near Phagwara.

Three different cases under NDPS Act have been registered against the arrested accused, said Toora. He said cops were determined to abolish the menace in the district and the campaign against drug abuse will continue.
