Municipal Corporation teams carried out a demolition drive in Punjabi Bagh and Mehr Enclave early this morning.

The MC teams razed three unauthorised constructions on the Mithapur road. These included two commercial buildings in Mehr Enclave and a double-storey house in Punjabi Bagh.

MC officials said notices were earlier served to building owners. Construction work was also stopped several times, but the owners continued to raise the buildings further.

Assistant Town Planner Sukhdev Sharma said the owners did not get the building plans passed. They also did not pay any CLU. The building branch team of the MC had razed as many as 20 illegal buildings in the past two weeks and plans to continue the action further.
