The Nurmahal police have arrested a shopkeeper for selling banned Chinese kite flying string. Investigating Officer (IO) Kulwindar Singh said the accused was identified as Deepak Uppal, a resident of Kot Badal Khan village. The IO said 10 rolls of banned string were recovered from the possession of the accused.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
