Leader of the Sangh Dhir stated that over the past three and a half years, law and order situation had steadily declined, severely impacting trade and commerce. “Every other day, businessmen are falling victim to violence and the government has failed to curb the crime,” he said.

He also expressed disappointment over the state government's lack of support for the victimised traders. “No aid is extended to the families of businessmen who lose their lives in attacks,” he added.

“Despite paying taxes, the future of the business community appears bleak. Traders and industrialists from other states are now hesitant to invest or do business in Punjab,” he said.

Dhir mentioned two recent incidents, the broad daylight murder of a businessman in Abohar and a major robbery in Bathinda the same evening.

The association demanded that the state government provide financial support to the family of the murdered Abohar businessman, similar to what is offered to government employees, and prioritise restoring law and order in the state.
