Tributes pour in for martyr Bhagat Singh

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Youth Wing marked the occasion by organising a blood donation camp in Guru Hargobind Nagar. Former Punjab Cabinet Minister Joginder Singh Mann and AAP state spokesperson and Phagwara constituency in-charge Harnoor Singh (Harji) Mann distributed certificates among blood donors. A total of 51 party youth donated blood at the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Joginder Mann and Harji Mann said the AAP government was implementing people-centric policies inspired by Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Dr BR Ambedkar. Harji Mann said the Punjab Government would soon provide free medical treatment worth Rs 10 lakh for every citizen without discrimination. The event saw the presence of several prominent leaders, including Doaba AAP in-charge Robby Kang, Mayor Rampal Uppal, and other local representatives.
Meanwhile, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Welfare Society also celebrated the martyr’s 118th birth anniversary by holding a programme. Former Union Minister Som Parkash Kanth paid floral tributes to Bhagat Singh on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he said Punjabis would always take pride in the martyr’s sacrifice. He urged the youth to the ideals of revolutionaries. He said at the age of just 23, Bhagat Singh gave up his life for India’s freedom.
In another initiative, a medical camp was held at Sangatpur village during which free medicines were distributed among underprivileged.
