Continuing its aggressive crackdown on drug trafficking under the “War against drugs”, the Goraya police have apprehended two 'drug peddlers' and recovered 120 intoxicating tablets from their possession.

Sarwan Singh Bal, DSP, Phillaur , said here today that on June 29, during a routine patrol, the team led by Inspector Sikander Singh Virk, Station House Officer of Goraya, and ASI Subhash Kumar, incharge of Dhuletta police post, apprehended the accused from Bada Pind Dasehra Ground.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Manpreet Singh, alias Monu, resident of Dak Khana Road, Goraya, and Deepak Kumar, alias Deepa, resident of Krishna Colony, Goraya.

During the search, the police recovered 120 tablets from their possession. A case has been registered and both accused have been produced in court to obtain police remand for further investigation.

DSP Bal added that the interrogation will focus on uncovering the broader supply chain and other individuals potentially linked with the illegal drug trade in the region.
