Phagwara: On a complaint lodged by Ranjit Kumar, a resident of Satnampura, the police have registered a case under Section 321, 341, 148, 149 and 120B of IPC against two persons, identified as Kishan Kumar and Amar Kishore, residents of the same locality on the charges of attacking the complainant and injuring him last night. No arrest has been made so far. OC

Two Proclaimed offenders held

Phagwara: The Lohian Khas police have arrested a proclaimed offender after four years. Shahkot DSP Onkar Singh said that the accused had been identified as Gurjant Singh, a resident of Bove Wala village under Fateh Garh Panjtoor police station in Moga. The DSP said the accused was wanted in four cases of robbery and drug peddling. In another case, the Nakodar Sadar police have arrested PO Sunil Kumar of Uggi village wanted in a case of drug peddling, said investigating officer Jiwan Singh. OC

One booked for theft

Phagwara: On a complaint lodged by a villager Resham Lal, a resident of village Miherru, the police have registered a case under Sections 454 and 380 of the IPC against a youth, Amit Kumar, a resident of the same village on the charges of stealing a cooking gas cylinder and Rs 30,000 in cash from the house of the complainant after breaking the locks last night. No arrest has been made so for. OC

2 held for snatching cash, mobile phone

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested two persons for snatching cash and a mobile phone from a villager. The IO said the accused had been identified as Paramjit Singh and Gagan Preet, both residents of Hari Pur village under Mehat Pur police station. — OC
