The siblings had reportedly gone to the riverbank for daily wage work and were taking a bath in the river when the incident happened.

According to sources, the body of Pappu has been recovered. However, a search operation by divers is still underway to trace the body of Ashu. Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala, Amit Kumar Panchal confirmed the mishap.

The sudden death of the siblings has sent shock waves through the town and surrounding areas, plunging the community into deep mourning. Cops were continuously investigating the matter, while local residents have expressed their grief over the heartbreaking loss.
