Vigilance Awareness Week kicks off in K’thala; officials pledge to fight corruption

As part of Vigilance Awareness Week being observed from October 27 to November 2 across Punjab, officers and employees of the Kapurthala district administration took a pledge to eliminate corruption and promote integrity in public life on Monday. The event was held at the District Administrative Complex under the directions of SSP Vigilance Bureau Range Jalandhar, Harpreet Singh, PPS.

Administering the integrity pledge, Assistant Commissioner (General) Vishal Vats and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vigilance Bureau, Joginder Pal highlighted the Punjab Government’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance. They reminded participants that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has launched the Anti-Corruption Action Helpline — 95012-00200, enabling citizens to directly report any instance of bribery or misconduct by government officials. The Vigilance Bureau, they added, promptly acts on verified complaints to uphold accountability within the system.

Addressing the gathering, the officers emphasised that during Vigilance Awareness Week, special awareness campaigns would be conducted across educational institutions and government offices in the district. These initiatives aim to educate youth and government employees about the harmful effects of corruption and to encourage collective responsibility toward building a corruption-free society.

DSP Joginder Pal further stated that the Punjab Government is determined to provide citizens with a corruption-free administration. Various awareness drives are being organized across the state to inform the public about the government’s anti-corruption policies and measures.
