The FIR was registered today after a video of the incident went viral on social media. Even though the video shows a man collapsing abruptly on the floor as soon as a man standing next to him fires a shot at the wedding, the police maintained that the cause of the death of the deceased was due to heart attack.

The incident took place during a wedding at Chak Des Raj village at an NRI's house on February 17.

In the video, a turbaned man is seeing firing an aerial shot. Immediately after the shot, another man falls on the floor. The man with the gun continues firing two more shots until people at the wedding notice something amiss.

The FIR states that accused Harman, fired aerial shots at the wedding without any concern for the safety of the guests and relatives attending the event.

Even though there is a ban on the carrying of fire arms in weddings, he also took his gun to the event.

A case under Section 125 of the BNS (endanger the safety of others or human life), and Sections 125, 25 and 27 of the Arms Act has been registered against Harman, who is still at large.

The deceased was reportedly the husband of the village sarpanch.

SHO of the Goraya police station Gursharan Singh said, "An FIR has been registered against the man for bringing a gun and firing shots at the wedding. However, as per medical reports and detailed investigation by officials at the wedding, the death took place due to heart attack."
