Two unidentified armed motorcyclist youths shot at one villager in Bhakhriaana near Rawalpindi (Phagwara) tonight.

The injured, identified as Paramjit Singh (63), along with his friend Manjit Singh was going to meet village panchayat member when the assailants opened fire and managed to flee. Paramjit Singh was brought to the local Civil Hospital with bullet injuries on his leg.

Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti rushed to the spot and later visited the hospital to enquire about the condition of the injured.

SP Bhatti said the police recovered two cartridge shells from the spot. The Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS, said SP Bhatti. She said the police are investigating the case with different angles.
