Having earlier served as the Jalandhar ACP, the 2007-batch IPS officer S Boopathi has once again got posted in the district as DIG (Jalandhar Range).

After taking charge, the DIG interacted with the officers, officials and other staff deployed in his office. He said he would strive for far more better police-public coordination and strengthening of cyber crime control activities. Besides public centric policing, other foremost priorities are to keep the law and order maintained as well as prevention of crime and keep a close vigil on illegal activities.

The new DIG of Jalandhar Range has also served as DIG (Personnel) and DIG CM Security. Earlier to DIG rank, Boopathi has been AIG Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, Patiala SSP, Moga SSP, Khanna SSP and DCP in Ludhiana. He also served as SP, Counter Intelligence, Amritsar and ACP Jalandhar.
