The police said the suspect was stopped for questioning after which female personnel frisked her. The team recovered 100 gram of heroin from her possession. She was immediately taken into custody.

The accused has been identified as Sukhwinder Kaur, alias Billo, of Boot village. Virk said the woman would be produced before the court, where police would seek her remand.

According to officials, the interrogation may lead to significant information about the wider drug supply chain operating in the region. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Kotwali police station.
