The victim’s mother Asha Rani filed a complaint with the Dhilwan Police Station, alleging that Akash had been harassing her daughter for some time. Acting on the complaint, the police registered an FIR and launched a manhunt. The accused was apprehended during a raid led by SHO Dalwinder Singh.

Following his arrest, Akash was presented before a local magistrate, who sent him to judicial custody. Police officials confirmed that further investigation is underway.
