Civil Hospital Phagwara marked World Arthritis Day with an event aimed at raising awareness about the increasing number of arthritis patients. The event was organised under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Kapurthala, Dr Sanjeev Bhagat and supervised by Senior Medical Officer, Dr Simardeep Kaur.

Orthopaedic specialist Dr Kashish Dhingra elaborated on the causes and symptoms of arthritis. She cautioned that what may seem like minor pain or swelling in the knees could eventually lead to arthritis if ignored. Dr Dhingra noted that stiffness, joint pain and inflammation are among the most common signs of the disease.
