Young talent shine at AGI Open Swimming championship

The AGI Open Swimming Championship saw enthusiastic participation on its third day, with around 62 swimmers competing in various heats held at the swimming pools of Jalandhar Heights 1 and 2, located on 66 Ft Road.

A large number of young swimmers, particularly in the under-10 and under-15 age groups, took to the water with great energy and excitement.

General Arun Khanna, Chief Administrator of AGI, expressed satisfaction with the strong turnout, especially in the younger categories. He said it was heartening to see children showing such interest in swimming and sports.

Echoing the sentiment, Sukhdev Singh, Managing Director of AGI Infra Limited, said in his message that AGI has always supported positive and meaningful activities for the youth. He reiterated the company’s commitment to promoting sports, calling it essential for the health and development of the next generation.

In the boys’ under-10 25-metre event, the first heat saw Sahib finish first, Aariv second, and Darsheel third. In the second heat, Viaan claimed first place, while Jasmer secured second.

In the girls’ under-10 category for the same distance, Anahat took first place, followed by Jannat in second and Rizen in third.

In the girls’ under-15 25-metre event, Avanshi won the first heat. Arzoie triumphed in the second heat, with Methali and Pranidhi taking second and third spots, respectively.

Among boys in the under-15 35-metre category, Aakarsh clinched first place in the first heat, followed by Rohan and Darsheim Singh. In the second heat, Aarav Chawla took first, with Jagrav second and Shivansh third. Aditya topped the third heat, while Lovish won the fourth heat and Yash came in second. Arsh finished first in the fifth heat, with Shubham in second.

The six-day championship continues to draw spirited participation and a supportive audience, with AGI’s initiative reinforcing its commitment to youth engagement, health, and sporting excellence.
