Youth held with 190 gm heroin

According to police officials, a team, led by ASI Gurmeet Singh and ASI Harpreet Singh, was conducting vehicle checking near the Kapurthala–Sultanpur main road towards Kharbuja Mandi as part of an intensified drive against drug trafficking under the NDPS Act.
During the checking, the police intercepted a young man riding a motorcycle without a registration number. Finding his movements suspicious, the police stopped him and carried out a search, during which a packet of heroin, weighing 190 gram, was recovered from his possession. He was taken into custody on the spot and the contraband, along with the motorcycle, was seized.
The police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the recovered heroin and other individuals connected to the network. The accused is a resident of Mohalla Sundar Nagar, Kapurthala.
