The Subhanpur police arrested a youth on Friday after recovering 6 grams of heroin from his possession during a routine checking near Bamuwal Saif village.

According to officials, a police team was on patrol duty near Lakhan Ke Padhai village when they noticed a suspicious young man attempting to flee upon seeing them. The suspect allegedly threw a polythene packet on the roadside before being apprehended by the police.

On searching the packet, policemen found 6 grams of heroin in it. The accused was identified as Lovepreet Singh, alias Love, a resident of Mohalla Balmik, Nafaula village, falling under the Subhanpur police station.

A case was registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in this connection.
