A youth died while his brother suffered serious injuries after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a tipper at the Gadhdiwala bus stand here this morning.

According to information, Deepak Kumar (20) and Roshan Lal (18), residents of Garhdiwala, were going towards the Garhdiwala bus stand on their motorcycle. When they reached near the bus stand, a tipper hit their motorcycle. The duo suffered serious injuries in the mishap.

They were shifted to a private hospital in Garhdiwala. Owing to their serious condition, they were referred to the Civil Hospital, Dasuya, where one of the victims succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar. His brother Roshan Lal was further referred to the PGI, Chandigarh.

The police seized the tipper and started further investigations into the matter.
