Youth returning home from fields assaulted, injured

A young man was seriously injured after being attacked while returning home from his fields in Lakhanpur Khurd village near Kapurthala last night.

According to reports, a group of youths from the same village allegedly intercepted and assaulted him without provocation, leaving the victim with multiple injuries. Family members rushed to the spot and immediately took him to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.

The injured youth, identified as Paramjit Singh, a resident of Lakhanpur Khurd, was later referred to the Civil Hospital, Kapurthala, after his condition was found to be critical. Singh stated that the assailants began assaulting him unexpectedly and continued the attack even as he tried to escape. Doctors have confirmed injuries to his head, hands, and other parts of the body.

The victim’s family has filed a complaint with the police, alleging that the assault was intentional and demanding strict legal action against the accused.
