2 killed in bus-scooter collision

Two scooterists were killed on the spot in a collision with a bus on the Nakodar-Jalandhar road today.

The accident occurred near Munda village where a Punjab Roadways bus collided with a scooter, killing both on the spot. The victims have been identified as Santokh Singh and Sukhdev Singh, both residents of Shamshabad village near Nurmahal. They were heading towards Jalandhar to get medicine when the accident took place.

As they reached the main road near Munda village, a Punjab Roadways bus coming from Nakodar hit their scooter allegedly due to the negligence by the bus driver. The collision was so severe that both died on the spot.

An ASI along with a police team reached the spot, impounded the bus and sent the bodies to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered against bus driver Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Rajia village in Barnala district, at the Sadar police station.
