Prime Minister Narendra Modi rightly said: ‘Ram is not fire, Ram is energy. Ram is not a dispute, Ram is the solution. Ram is not just ours, Ram belongs to everyone.’ Undoubtedly, Lord Rama is revered by the majority of the Indians. After a relentless struggle of about 500 years to reclaim the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi site, a dream has come true, and the task has been accomplished by installing the Ram Lalla idol in the Ayodhya temple.

Symbol of faith
Refer to ‘Ram Temple’; Lord Ram’s ideals of truth, respect for all, equality, honour and patience continue to resonate in the present scenario. He teaches us to be strong and brave in all circumstances. Our humble behaviour should not be misconstrued as cowardice. The Ram Temple is a symbol of the faith of millions of people in India, which was neglected for a long time. Finally, the present government took the initiative to settle the long-pending case in the Supreme Court. Under the dynamic leadership of PM Modi and CM Yogi, with the blessings of millions of people who selflessly donated for the temple construction, this dream is now a reality.

Ram belongs to all
Mahatma Gandhi’s assertion that the concept of Ram Rajya doesn’t imply a ‘Hindu Raj’ might comfort the minorities, who may be harbouring fears of marginalisation in the wake of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir. Lord Rama and the moral standards set by him have been integral to the lifestyle and thinking of Indians for ages. The enactment of episodes from the Ramayana on stage every year before Dasehra has played a significant role in keeping people of different castes and religions emotionally connected. Artisans and artistes from non-Hindu communities have always been an inseparable part of Ram Lila, contributing to the strengthening of the bond of brotherhood among diverse groups.

Bury the bitterness
Apropos of ‘Time to bury bitter past, says Bhagwat’; RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for the burial of past bitterness that marked the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute. Even Iqbal Ansari, a former litigant in the Babri Masjid case, called upon people to follow Lord Rama as the dispute was over. Lord Rama returned to his abode amid nationwide celebrations. Now, it is time to work in unison to uplift our nation.

Bilkis Bano case
All 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano case surrendered before the Godhra sub-jail just minutes before their deadline expired. The remission of sentences of these convicts was perceived as an attempt to promote crimes, but there is renewed hope. Surely, the apex court will deliver an exemplary verdict, either sentencing them to death or life imprisonment. Firm action in such cases is crucial to curb crimes against women.

Illegal mining
Apropos of ‘Daring mafia’; it is not surprising to learn that despite strict actions taken by the Haryana State Pollution Control Board, illegal mining continues to persist in Haryana. The entrenched network involving politicians, police, officers and miners makes it almost impossible to completely eradicate this illicit activity. The consequences of such mindless mining are contributing to ecological imbalance, and there is a concern that we will have to bear a heavy price for it in the future.

Will help farmers
Refer to ‘PAU develops 2 new varieties of potato’; potato is considered the king of the kitchen, serving as a staple diet for all strata of society. The introduction of new and improved varieties is expected to assist farmers in cultivating this cash crop with reduced vulnerability to pest infections, enabling them to earn more. Besides, consumers will benefit from having access to improved varieties. Kudos to Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, for adding these varieties to the common man’s plate.
