Binnu Dhillon and Smeep Kang announce their upcoming film, Golgappe

Even as the year draws to a close, there is no let-down in the enthusiasm of Punjabi film industry folks. Binnu Dhillon, along with director Smeep Kang, on Friday announced their upcoming venture, Golgappe, for which the shooting will begin on December 15.

While the title itself is mouth-watering, we wonder which character resembles which ingredient of golgappe’s recipe? Director Smeep Kang replies, “Our actresses Ihana Dhillon and Navneet Dhillon are chutney, without which golgappe will be tasteless. Rest you will figure it out once the movie is released.”

Women power

Actress Ihana Dhillon, all-praise for ‘The King Of Comedy’ Smeep, says, “I believe the puri is our director, as he assembles the cast and will direct us to bring out a wonderful recipe.”

Seen in High End Yaariyan this year, Navneet Kaur Dhillon will also be seen in Golgappe. About her New Year goal, she says, “I would like to read at least 20 books in 2020.” BN Sharma and Bollywood actor Rajat Bedi will also be a part of the cast.

Leading man

Says Binnu, “I will continue to experiment with interesting content just as last year, which saw movies like Kala Shah Kala, Naukar Vahuti Da and Jhalle. Golgappe will be a mixture of good punches and situational comedy.”

About the title and his role in the movie, Binnu adds, “You never know, I might have my own rehri of golgappe like this (referring to the setting of the promotional event with various stalls of golgappe). Our motive was to attract all the ladies and children.” – Sheetal
