Bollywood as well as television celebrities were seen in a festive mood as they celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi on Friday (September 10) by bringing Bappa home. The festival marks birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha — the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. On this auspicious occasion, people welcome Lord Ganesha’s idols at their homes with great pomp and show. Celebs who got the Ganesha home included Neil Nitin Mukesh, Arpita Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Arjun Bijlani and Divyanka Tripathi, among others.

Shilpa Shetty, who is usually accompanied by her family members during Ganpati celebrations, was seen getting the Ganesh idol alone this year. The actress later posted a picture on Instagram in which she is seen with her kids.

Meanwhile, several other celebs took to social media to extend warm wishes. Ajay Devgn shared a throwback photo from the time when he visited Lalbaugcha Raja’s idol to seek blessings on Ganesh Chaturthi. Ajay wrote in the caption, “Lord Ganesha is the harbinger of all things good—peace, prosperity, progress, happiness and health. Let’s join our hands in prayer to welcome our favourite deity today. Ganpati Bappa Morya…” Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Madhuri Dixit, Soha Ali Khan and others also took to Twitter to wish fans on the occasion. On the other hand, Rahul Vaidya released Ganapati Mahamantra Jaap to celebrate the festival.
