Instagram accounts, photo-shoots and interesting posts, these celeb pets are living life in the fast lane

As we celebrate National Pet Day, we bring Instagram accounts of pets with their own set of fans. We all know Hollywood’s obsession with their pets and their social handles, like Andy Cohen’s rescue dog Wacha Cohen, Lady Gaga’s Miss Asia, but Bollywood is not far behind.

Much like Priyanka Chopra’s book, Unfinished, fans cannot get enough of the pet parents’ (Priyanka and Nick) babies, Diana, Gino and Panda Chopra Jonas. The canines’ Instagram accounts are competing with each other with @diariesofdiana having 168k followers), @ginothegerman stands tall at 310k followers whereas the newbie to the family @pandathepunk has 62.4k followers. As told by Priyanka multiple times, it was Diana, a chihuahua-terrier mix, who chose her during an interview. She fell in love with her (Diana) and took her home. The second one, Gino, is her gift to Nick on their wedding anniversary. Panda, a husky crossed with Australian shepherd, has one blue eye and one brown eye. While Nick and Priyanka often play characters in their social accounts, the fur babies have a personality of their own.

Mother of four

Disha Patani is single mother to her two dogs, Bella and Goku, and two cats, Jasmine and Keety. Together the social media handle of her pets sounds like a tongue twister as it is all their names put together in one word, @bellajasminegokukeety which has 21.8k followers on Instagram.

Rare chance

Mother of cat, as claims Alia Bhatt in one of her posts, had expressed her grief in January this year when her cat Sheeba died and captioned it as, ‘Goodbye my angel’. Left with two, Edward and Juniper, she had adopted the latter in July last year. She introduced juniper to her Insta family, “Meet our new baby Juniper. Her skills include biting, selfie-taking and being generally adorable.” Although Alia has made a social media handle for Edward Bhatt, @bhattedward, her fans took the onus on them to make one for Juniper.

Stray friend

John Abraham rescued a stray pup, and named her Bailey. The success of their journey together is preserved in pictographic form in Bailey’s Instagram handle @abraham¬_bailey. The surprise package was her daughter Sia Bailey Abraham, “Hi, I’m Bailey and this is my baby girl Sia! I was adopted by my awesome parents and we all live together!” reads the introduction to her social media handle.

Celeb status

“I am a super cute shih tzu puppy living in Mumbai with my darling mummy @SophieChoudry & granny Yasmin,” reads the bio of Tia Choudry, pet of actress Sophie Choudry. From celebrating her birthday to Christmas together, Tia gets all the attention.

• Amazon Prime Video’s The Pack, a game show based on canines and their owners, has highlighted the lengths the rich and famous go to make their pets look good for the camera.
• Recent ordeal with Lady Gaga’s French bulldogs, Koji and Gustav, who were kidnapped, left the world shocked. Good to know that she was reunited with her dogs, but her Insta post had layers of emotions. “My beloved dogs, Koji and Gustav were taken in Hollywood two nights ago.
