While most of the award functions, including Oscars and film festivals such as Cannes, have been cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, Venice Film Festival has announced its confirmed dates. The international film festival, which is said to be one of the longest-running events, will be held in September this year. Veneto Governor and Luca Zaia confirmed the same through an announcement on Sunday.

Luca also said though the festival would proceed, it was very likely that there would be fewer films this year.
