New Pirates of Caribbean
Strap: Margot Robbie, Christina Hodson reteam fot the female centric film that isn’t a spin-off rather an original story
Hollywood star Margot Robbie will headline the next film in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe. Reportedly, Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson has been roped in to write the script for a new, female-fronted movie for Disney. This new project is different from the already announced reboot being created by Ted Elliott and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin. The plot details of the same are being kept under wraps as of now and it is in early stages of development.
The film is not intended to be a spinoff of the long-running franchise that featured Johnny Depp as pirate Jack Sparrow, but rather a fully original story with new characters. The last film in Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was Dead Men Tell No Tales, which was released back in 2017. Meanwhile, Margot Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad reboot.
