Tillotama Shome praises Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu recently donated her platelets to an unknown elderly woman. The message was spread by actress Tillotama Shome, who tweeted about how her friend’s grandmother needed platelets and Taapsee rushed for help. Tillotama took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “I have never worked or hung out with @taapsee, but I was aware of how hard-working she was!! I was, however, unaware of how incredibly humane she is.”

Tillotama continued, “Going beyond an RT to actually offer to donate her platelets! You are gold!! I wish you my best and admire your strength. My friend’s grandma needed platelets, and she offered to donate even though she does not know me or my friend… Wishes for your good health, nothing is more precious.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
