Call it serendipity, but while most of India finds itself polarised and split down the middle over religion and identity, actor Sanjay Khan is all set to launch his new book which endeavours to bring some sense to the tumult. Khan’s second book titled, Assalamualaikum Watan makes a gallant effort to record the role of Muslims in helping build India’s cultural and architectural legacy.

Shared Sanjay Khan, “The intention behind this book is not only to convince the Indian Muslims to eliminate this immigrant mentality, but also provide a very tangible, explicit and logical solution for Muslims in India to once again reach its zenith of contribution. AssalamualaikumWatan is a humble attempt to invoke that spirit in Indian Muslims again.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
