Shubhangi Atre, known for her role as Angoori Bhabhi in Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, has been a beloved face in the television industry for years. While she has entertained audiences with her comic timing, her personal life has seen significant changes. After 22 years of marriage, she and her husband, Piyush Poorey, decided to part ways. Their divorce was finalised on February 5, bringing closure to a long chapter in her life.

Shubhangi admits that the decision was painful, as she was deeply invested in the relationship. “I gave my heart to this marriage because that’s the kind of person I am,” she shares. However, over time, differences between them grew, making it impossible to continue together. Now, after moving on, she feels a sense of peace.

“It feels like a heavy weight has been lifted. There’s a newfound sense of freedom, and it’s hard to explain how relieving that is,” she says. Her priority now is to focus on her daughter, Ashi, and give her a happy and secure life. One of the biggest lessons she has learned from this experience is self-reliance.
